This is darling =waiting4wings character Pagan. Sorry to mutilate him in a vector...but it HAD to be Pagan.
Last weekend Wings and I went to a cabin for the weekend. We explored all over in our bicycles and found an area we dubbed, "Orange Purgatory."

Pagan sat and howled in his territory. Where burning fires schorched only days prior, he sat alone in a place no animals had dared return. The undergrowth consisted of pine needles only. There was no grass. Charcoaled pinecones survived and littlered the earth. The pained needle trees had blackened trunks but high upper regions still growing, and that had not found out what happened below.

We rode on the pine needles often and it was the saddest path of fried earth i've seen in a while.
This drawing was done all today. I did it entirely on the computer which used to be difficult for me. i tried many different ways of shading Pagan, but i always fell back to the smple vector. THe shading was tough to attempt with this style since i wanted to keep the different sections of red apart, and not repeat the color...
I like how this came out, and am proud that the background is like in some way how the Orange Purgatory really was.
